First Time in Highchair
Bart did a double take tonight when he came home from work to see Owen sitting up in his highchair. WOW! He looked so big yet the chair still made him seem so little. He loved it! He sat and played in the highchair for a good 45 minutes tonight - which is unusual for him to sit somewhere that long.
He even winked at me!
I could just get lost in those eyes!!
Toothless grin

Rollin', Gruntin', and Smackin'!!
Owen has become quite the active little fellow these days. He will no longer stay were you put him! He is rolling from back to front and now his is on the move! He likes to play on the floor with his activity gym but before we know it he has rolled off onto the floor. You can't keep this boy in one place any more!! Next thing I know he'll be crawling away!
He's been grunting for a while now but today he has started grunting and then smacking his lips! He was laying in the floor near my computer and I kept hearing this smacking sound. After a few minutes I realized that it was coming from him! :)
Here's a quick video. Pardon the blank stares at times - the video light just mesmerizes him!

Four Month Well Visit
We went back to see Dr. Wood last week for Owen's 4 month check up. He got 4 shots and did really well until about the 3rd one he said "Enough!" He got a great report! Dr. Wood said that in your 20+ years in practice has she ever seen a baby take up breastfeeding as late as 4 months. She said she knew it was possible but had never had a Mom hold out that long! I am one determined mommy and he is doing great! :) Owen weighed in at 15 lbs. 3 oz. (50%) and measured 26 1/4 inches long (90%). He is on the tall and skinny track just like his sister. I looked back at Katelyn's stats at 4 months and she was 15 lbs. 2 oz. and 26 inches long. Here's a comparision from his last four visits. I'm any constantly amazed at watching this little man grow!

Mini Session with Grace
Recently I entered Katelyn in an online back to school contest to win a mini session with Grace O'Connor - a local children's photographer whose work I totally love! I was so excited to see that Katelyn won the contest! Here's the photo I entered - click here. This past Saturday we met with Grace for a quick session with Katelyn (and even a few with Owen). She hasn't posted the online gallery yet but here's the sneak peek she put up on her blog today...

Big Girl Bike
Baylor Ryan
It is so hard to believe that our sweet cousin Baylor is already 6 months old! It seems like just yesterday we met her at the hospital for the first time - click here . She is so precious! Aunt Kaye and Hunter brought her up to the lake this weekend. Here are a few shots from a quickie session today.
Grandparents are so special!
Last Sunday was Grandparent's Day. Bart and I are so blessed to have two sets of wonderful parents! They are always there to help with babysitting and anything else we need. It is really neat to watch them truly light up around their grandchildren. We love you guys! Thank you for everything!
Nana and Pop Lemmond
Gigi and Poppy Mercer

We Dig The Pig!
Last weekend we headed up to Alex City to spend the day with my parents. One of Katelyn's favorite things to do in Alex City is to go with Nana to the Piggly Wiggly to buy popsicles. They even have shopping carts just her size! Mom bought her a Piggly Wiggly shirt and she thought she was big stuff! We just found out recently that the Holleys are building a Piggly Wiggly in Slapout and Katelyn is so excited!! :)
Best Friends
Not long ago Katelyn came up to me and said "Mommy, you are my best friend!". Awww, it just warmed my heart! Even on the days when she just drives me insane, I still just love her to death! At Eastdale Mall there is one of those fun photo booths that prints out a strip of photos. We couldn't resist! What fun!!
Dancing Queen
A couple of weeks ago Katelyn started her taking dancing classes at Gigi's Dancing Dolls in Wetumpka. She loves it!! I got to attend her first class and take some pictures. I'm not allowed in again until Parent's night later in the season. I drop her off at the door and she goes right in like a big girl!

Ruthie's New Puppies
Four Months
Another month has flown by! Owen is growing like a weed. He has lost pretty much all of his baby hair and now it is coming in blonde. He has really started teething this past month. He is a constant drooling mess! :) His torticollis seems to be getting a little better as his neck gets stronger and his head control is better. He now enjoys spending time in the exersaucer and doorway jumper.
The big surprise this month was that he decided to take up nursing again. I've been pumping exclusively since he was about 2 weeks old. About two weeks ago he started going through what seemed to be a growth spurt and wanting to eat all the time. I got behind in my production and just couldn't get it pumped fast enough. Out of frustration I gave him an opportunity to nurse directly and he latched right on without any problems at 15 weeks old! So now he is fully breastfed as if he had never skipped a beat! Truly amazing!!
We go back to the doctor for his 4 month checkup tomorrow.
Here's a quick look at the past 3 months. It is neat to see how much he as changed!

Labor Day Weekend
This was the first year since we've been at the lake that we didn't have any guests. It was just a nice relaxing weekend as a family. We swam in the pool, went for a boat ride, and just enjoyed being together!
100% Daddy's girl!
CANONBALL!!!
Katelyn's big accomplishment this summer has been learning to swim without her life jacket. She is doing very well! I am so proud of her!
Ruthie - just days before giving birth to her latest litter of puppies!
Katelyn & Mommy
It was a beautiful day on the lake!
Katelyn loves Buddy!
WOW!!
Owen enjoyed a dip in the pool too! He loves the water!

Teething
Owen has started really showing some signs of teething lately. He is constantly gnawing on his hands and drooling like crazy. I truly believe he would put his entire fist in his mouth if it would fit! The other day we were next door at Poppy & Gigi's house and Owen started gnawing. Poppy gave him his finger and Owen just thought that was the greatest! Immediately I was reminded of a similar image with Katelyn just three short years ago. I ran for a camera. This was not set up in any way. Poppy just happened to be sitting in the same place with Owen has he was with Katelyn. When I took the picture I didn't realize just how close in age they were when they both enjoyed chewing on Poppy's finger. Deja Vu!
